HSE First Aid at Work (FAW)
3 days Course
KTS provides HSE First Aid at Work Courses which are 18 hour / 3 days. The course is designed to equip individuals with the skills and confidence to administer first aid in their workplace to meet HSE requirements and beyond. The course consists on lecturing, videos and practical work. HSE First Aid at Work Course Content
- Understanding the role of a First Aider
- The importance of preventing cross infection
- The need to record incidents and accidents accurately
- Assess the situation in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency
- Administer first aid to an unconscious casualty (including fits)
- Administer CPR Provide first aid to a choking casualty
- Provided first aid to a casualty with a severely bleeding wounds
- Treatment for a casualty suffering from shock
- Provide first aid for minor injuries
- Other elements of course Injuries to bones, muscles and joints including spinal injuries
- Chest injuries Burns and scalds
- Eye injuries
- Sudden poisoning
- Anaphylatic shock
- Signs and symptoms of major illnesses, heart attack, diabetes, strokes, epilepsy, asthma
It is recommended that once you have successfully completed this training course you attend a yearly refresher course.
Training courses can be provided across Portsmouth, Hampshire, Islee of Wight, London, Sussex, Surray, Kent, Dorset and Devon.
