Emergency First Aid at Work
Training
(EFAW) Course 1 day
This EFAW Training is a 6 hour Emergency First Aid Course design to train individuals in the administration of First Aid in the workplace. During the training course you will be using a variety of learning methods, DVD, instructor teaching and practical sessions. Candidate will be taught the steps and techniques for dealing with life-threatening emergencies safely and with confidence.
Course Content:
- Understand the role of a First Aider
- The importance of preventing cross infection
- The need to record incidents and actions accurately
- The use of available equipment
- Assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency
- Provide First aid to an unconscious casualty (including Fits)
- Administer CPR
- How to treat a choking casualty
- Treatment of a wound with severe bleeding
- Treat a casualty suffering from shock
- Providing appropriate First Aid for minor injuries
It is recommended that once you have successfully completed this training course you attend a yearly practical refresher training course.
